Optimum performance
The performance and useful life of standard EL lamps can be affected
by several factors, such as the relative ambient humidity. Visual
minimises the adverse effects of humidity by utilizing micro
encapsulated phosphors in the construction of its EL lamps. Furthermore,
we modify the construction of the lamps depending on the environmental
conditions of the application, so as to maximize the EL lamp
performance and lifetime. Visual also advises how to best drive
its EL lamps so as to achieve maximum efficiency and minimise
stress on the lamp, which causes the subsequent damage and deterioration
of lamp performance.
Technical Characteristics High performance EL lamps
Standard EL lamps perform optimally in indoor conditions but
Visual also develops EL lamps depending on the demands of the
application requirements, such as marine or outdoor solutions.
Visual EL lamps therefore can not only be constructed for longer
life and higher brightness, but also to be able to withstand
greater extremes of ambient temperature and high humidity (99%RH).
Technical
Characteristics
Low Voltage EL lamps
Visual can now offer a new low voltage EL lamp solution, which
is driven at 30 volts or less instead of the usual 110volts.
These EL lamps have the additional advantage of being more resistant
to harsher environmental conditions as well as operating in a
more stable manner, resulting in a longer useful lamp life. They
are an ideal solution for applications where public safety regulations
are an issue.
Technical
Characteristics
Mains-driven EL lamps
Visual now manufactures a unique low frequency EL lamp (50/60Hz)
that not only can be driven directly from the mains electricity
supply (110v/220v), but it also offers all the extra benefits
of high performance lamps. Mains-driven lamps also do away with
the need for inverters thereby permitting more simplified solutions
for domestic or commercial applications.
